Physical Exams

We recommend that your pet have a complete physical exam every six months to one year to look for early signs of disease along with vaccinations and annual screening for intestinal parasites and heartworms. We emphasize affordable blood screening panels to ensure a pet's health. Remember: Pets age much faster than people!!! A year between physical exams in dogs is like a person waiting 7 years between exams. A lot can change in that amount of time!

Dental Care

Approximately 85% of dogs and cats suffer from some degree of dental disease. Proper dental care will increase your pet's quality of life. A dental prevents your pet from losing teeth, having a painful mouth, having difficulty eating, and developing bad breath. It can also help prevent bacterial infections in the heart and kidneys. We can also provide more complicated procedures, such as oral surgery, if your pet needs more advanced care. These procedures can aid in the early detection of problems with the teeth and surrounding bone that would otherwise be undetected.

Spay/Neuter

In general, we recommend sterilization for pets that are not intended to be used for breeding. Pets should have finished their puppy/kitten vaccines before scheduling surgery. We generally like pets to be between 6 and 9 months old but this can vary depending on the pet. Pets adopted from the Humane Society or another animal shelter, with proper paperwork, can be sterilized for a discount.

Behavior Counseling

We recognize that not all pets are perfect. If you are having a behavior problem with your pet, please let us know so that we can help. You don't have to live with bad behavior-it can often be changed with proper training and a little help understanding the dog/cat mind. We can provide behavior-altering medications and/or names of local trainers who can give one on one attention for your pet.

Diagnostic Testing

Our state-of-the-art in-house laboratory enables us to perform routine diagnostics and advanced blood work instantly. Radiographs (x-rays) can be taken and interpreted in under an hour to ensure that your pet receives timely treatment. We also have the ability and expertise to provide more advanced diagnostics such as ECG and blood pressure monitoring.

Vaccinations

We pledge to do our best to protect your pet against contagious diseases by tailoring vaccination protocols to your pet's needs. We can also run blood titers to determine whether your pet already has adequate protection prior to vaccinating for a particular disease.

Pharmacy

We can provide you with all of your pet's pharmacological needs with very little waiting time for refills. Refill requests can be made over the phone or via e-mail (Please see contact us section).

Microchipping

We recommend microchipping for all pets. We implant the Home Again Microchip, which is a small informational chip placed under the skin. The Home Again Microchip has helped return over 300,000 pets to their owners.

Nutrition Counseling

We can prescribe special diets to treat skin, liver, kidney, heart and intestinal diseases. If weight is a concern we will create a weight-loss program to help your pet reach his/her ideal body weight.

Hospice/Euthanasia

Saying good-bye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with owners to ensure that their pets have comfort and dignity in their final moments. We also offer in-house euthanasia.

Radiology

With in-house radiology (x-ray) equipment, we are able to perform and interpret radiographs within an hour.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound can be an important tool to help us diagnose your pet’s illness. It is a non-invasive method to give us a 3-D picture of internal organs which can help us identify abnormal organ structures.

Echocardiogram

An ECHO gives us a three-dimensional picture of the heart and allows us to evaluate the degree of heart disease.

Tonometry

We use a Tonopen, a small, gentle instrument, to accurately check eye pressures. This tool allows us to diagnose and monitor Glaucoma, one of the leading causes of blindness in dogs.

General Surgery and Anesthesia

If an invasive procedure is needed, it will be handled by a skilled, experienced team using the best equipment and instrumentation. We use a combination of intravenous and inhalant anesthetics that is tailored to your pet’s needs to ensure safety and comfort.

Oncology (cancer treatment)

We are experienced in administering and monitoring chemotherapy should your pet be diagnosed with cancer.

• Large dogs (76-100 lbs): $23.25/day

• Administering medications: ($3.00-3.25/day)
• Personal food: ($1.50/day)
